000The leonine stride of Sri Murugan Centre that navigates its voyage towards excellence in various fields is about to bring itself to the eyes of the world. This month, a team from Sri Murugan Centre will attend the Internship Programme for Diaspora Youth , which is named the Know India Program this year, grandly organized by the Ministry of Overseas Affairs (MOIA), India .
0000The programme will be held from May 15 th to June 15 th 2006 in the nature of an Orientation Programme, enabling the participants to get exposure to various facets of Indian way of life, culture, spirituality, adventure and sports, creativity and composite character of India .
0000This program will serve as an arena for the Youth of Sri Murugan Centre to meet other youth from all over the world and be exposed to various issues. This program is participated by the Indian Diaspora, i.e., the Indians who have migrated form India and their descendents. Indian Diaspora youth from 33 countries are invited to participate in this programme such as Malaysia , Australia , Canada , United States of America , United Kingdom , Mauritius , and many more. The main aim of this assembly is to establish a global network between the Diaspora, especially youth on how they can benefit and contribute to the global growth in terms of economy, knowledge, social, science and technology and many other fields when India emerges as a superpower in the near future.
0000Also, the program provides room for exchange of views, ideas, and constructive discussions. Thus a lot of learning, experience and networking through an array of exciting activities will constitute this event. The bondage between the Indian youth from around the world will allow youth empowerment, especially in the light of increasing social degrades and moral derangements.
0000Sri Murugan Centre will be represented by Mr. Guganeswaran Kamala Kannan, an undergraduate of University Tun Abdul Razak and Mr. Kemarendran Murugiah, also an undergraduate from University Tun Abdul Razak.
0000Sri Murugan Centre targets to extend its international participation and venture through this event. Undergraduates and youth have always been the building blocks of Sri Murugan Centre and they will continue to be so. Therefore, the quality of Sri Murugan Centre youth must also grow in line with the progress of the world.
0000Through this program, Sri Murugan Centre is set to shed some light to the international brethrens, the success, aspirations, direction and the future of the Malaysian Indians. It will be revealed to the world the struggle of Sri Murugan Centre for over two decades for the social and cultural advancement of Malaysian Indians, the vehicle it utilizes, that is, education and its driving power, religion.
0000This program will indeed be a stepping-stone for that effort. The details of the programme are as follows:
The programme will comprise of 30 interns.
- The programme will be held in Delhi and in Himachal Pradesh, two days each at the commencement and conclusion of the Programme Delhi and Three weeks in Himachal Pradesh.
- The qualifying age for the Programme is 18- 25 years
- The participants should have distinguished himself/herself in a particular field, should have an abiding interest in India and links with India through parentage.
- The participants will pay for their international travel costs from their respective countries to Delhi and back, which expenditure on internal travel, boarding/ lodging, etc. will be met by Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA)
