This year, a total of 517, 908 pupils attempted the UPSR examination. Out of that, 1326 National Type School and 1814 Tamil School students are from SMC. All high achievers from Klang valley were gathered at Skanda Aranggam onThursday, 19 November 2009 to celebrate their victory with their parents and the entire SMC family.
The event was graced by Dato Dr. M. Thambirajah together with Chairman of PETRA Foundation, Datuk Vinod Sekhar. There were 28 UPSR (T) centres and 10 UPSR (SK) centres nationwide. According to press time, a total of 229 students UPST (T) students garnered 7A’s and 358 UPSR (SK) students obtained 5A’s.
The students were celebrated and applauded throughout the ceremonious event which was signified by a cake cutting ceremony to mark the beginning of their academic excellence yet to come. Dato Dr. M. Thambirajah highlighted the importance of preparing for the Secondary school life during the holidays and urged the parents to show support and stand by their children at all times.
